About National Service Scheme (NSS)
The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a Central
Sector Scheme of Government of India, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports.
It provides opportunity to the student youth of 11th & 12th Class of
schools at +2 Board level and student youth of Technical Institution, Graduate
& Post Graduate at colleges and University level of India to take part in
various government led community service activities & programmes.The sole
aim of the NSS is to provide hands on experience to young students in
delivering community service. Since inception of the NSS in the year 1969, the
number of students strength increased from 40,000 to over 3.8 million up to the
end of March 2018 students in various universities, colleges and Institutions
of higher learning have volunteered to take part in various community service
programmes.

Benefits of Being a NSS Volunteer:
A NSS volunteer who takes part in the community service programme would
either be a college level or a senior secondary level student. Being an active
member these student volunteers would have the exposure and experience to be
the following:

· a
person who understands human nature
Activities held on During the session 2019- 2020
1. One day
Camp on 28 August,2019
2. Second
one day camp on 28 Feb, 2020
3. Seven
day special camp on 18 – 24 feb, 2020 at Mahachyan Mohalla.
4. Unity
Day celebrated on 31st October, 2019
5. Polythene
Free Day on 2nd October, 2019.
6. Republic
Day Celebrated on 26th Jan, 2020.
7. A movie
was shown regarding breaking stereo types about girls on National Girl Child
Day.
(C) Road
Safety Club
Road Safety
club of the college comprises In-charge Mrs. Kavita Rani along with members Ms.
Manisha, Ms. Seema, Ms. Ritu and Ms. Suman for the session 2019-20. The main
objective of this club is to organize such programs and activities that can
aware students about the Road Safety rules so that with this knowledge, they
can secure not only their lives but also lives of their families, relatives and
neighbourhood.
(D) Youth
Red Cross
The
Red Cross is born of a desire to bring assistance without discrimination to the
wounded on the battlefield and endeavours, in its international and national
capacity, to prevent and alleviate human suffering wherever it may be found.
Its purpose is to protect life and health and to ensure respect for the human
being. The main objective of this organization is to develop the feeling of
“Vasudhav Kutumbkam” which connects people with each other. As a result a
person starts to think about his/her neighbourhood, community, society, state
and country.
Youth
Red Cross of the college comprises In-charge Ms. Kiran and members Ms. Manisha,
Ms. Seema and Ms. Annu Yadav for the session 2019-20. The Youth Red Cross
organizes group activities for the students so that they come to know about the
role and responsibility of Red Cross in developing the feeling of co-operation
among them.
Activities held during the session 2019-20:
- 3-Day First Aid camp.
- HIV/AIDS Awareness
program.
- Participation in 7
Days YRC camp.

Cultural Activities
For the
development of the girls students, various cultural activities and programmes
are organized every year in which a large number of girl students participate.

To discover and hone hidden talent among
students, an annual talent search programme is organized in the college in the
beginning of every session. The students also participate in cultural
activities and competitions like folk songs, folk dances, group dances etc.
organized at the college, district and state levels. An annual Zonal Youth
Festival is organized at the university level in the months of October-November
in which students from all the colleges under the university participate in
different competitions and are given certificates and prizes. Those students
who stood out in these competitions are given a chance to further participate
in Inter-Zonal and Inter-university competitions.
In the session 2019-2020 the college students received following prizes:
1. On 14th July
2019 the college cultural team participated in Folk Song State level
competitions held at Narnaul in the memory of Pandit Lakhmi Chand. Our college
team got First Position in the competition.
2. Ashu, a
student of B.A 1st year won First prize in folk song at state
level competition held at Ahir College, Rewari on 19 Sept 2019.
3. Our college
organized a talent search programme on 17&18 Oct 2019 to search well
performing students in different cultural activities.
4. The college
cultural teams participated in twenty cultural activities in the University
level Youth Festival held at IG University, Meerpur on 16-18 November
2019. Our student Ashu B.A.-Ist year won Ist position in Classical
Musical vocal, Asha B.A.-Ist year and Priyanka B.Com Ist year won Ist position
in Solo Dance Haryanvi. Further, in Group song General the college team got
IInd position, while in Cartooning we got IInd position.
5. The college
student Ashu B.A.-Ist year Roll No. 119 participated in 35th Inter
University North Zone Youth Festival held at Guru Nanak Dev University,
Amritsar organized by A.I.U dated 25thDec., 2019 to 29th Dec.,
2019.
6. The college
organized a two days cultural programme Umang on 20-21st January,
2020.
